The liver detoxifies on its own. 'Detox' programs rarely do anything for it — but daily habits really can.
Diet
Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage), beets, leafy greens, garlic, and turmeric all support natural liver enzymes.
Limit alcohol
The single most impactful liver intervention for most adults.
Move
Exercise reduces liver fat — the most common modern liver problem.
Herbs with evidence
Milk thistle (silymarin) and dandelion root are the best-studied liver-support herbs. Both are gentle and well-tolerated.
Sleep
The liver is most active at night. Late, alcoholic, or heavy meals strain it disproportionately.
