What is it?
Cracked wheat and shredded meat are cooked for a long time and then beaten until the mixture becomes uniform and stringy, with no separate pieces left.
It is served hot, usually with melted butter, sugar or cinnamon added at the table according to preference.

Haleem is a cold-morning breakfast, bought early from specialist shops in many cities. It is also widely made during Ramadan.
