Nimroo
نیمرو
Persian Breakfast
Fried eggs, often cooked with tomato.
What is it?
Nimroo is the everyday Persian fried egg, cooked in a small pan and brought to the table in it.
A common version cooks the eggs into softened tomato with turmeric, so the whites take on the colour of the sauce.
The Persian table
Eaten with bread, usually torn and used to lift the egg straight from the pan. It is the quickest of the warm breakfasts.
