Persian Breakfast
What is it?
Lentils are simmered with onion, turmeric and a little tomato until they break down and the pot thickens.
It is often cooked the night before, since it firms up as it stands and is easily reheated in the morning.
The Persian table
Adasi is eaten hot with bread, commonly with a squeeze of lime. It is also sold from small breakfast shops in the early morning.
