Cinnamon
The Essentials

Ceylon cinnamon is the safer bark for daily use. It holds far less of the hepatotoxic coumarin found in Cassia. Across pooled type 2 diabetes trials, the effects on fasting glucose, HbA1c and post-meal blood sugar are modest but real.
It is also one of the oldest Persian warming digestives. A stick simmered in tea after a heavy dinner does most of what tradition asked of it.
Culinary use of Ceylon is essentially unlimited. Supplemental doses need a floor, a ceiling and a look at the coumarin math.
