Editorial Levels

Every page in the Living Library carries an editorial level. A page may only make the claims its level has actually been reviewed for. Pages climb the ladder over time; none of them skip a rung.

  1. Level 1

    Basic Reviewed Profile

A safe, trustworthy public reference with no health claims: canonical identity, food category, scientific name where applicable, and an editor-reviewed description.

    Identity and description only.

  2. Level 2

    Traditional Context Reviewed

Historical and traditional context, including Traditional Persian Medicine framing, presented as tradition rather than as medical advice.

    Adds traditional context and temperament.

  3. Level 3

    Evidence Reviewed

Modern research reviewed and cited, with explicit evidence-strength ratings and clearly bounded conclusions.

    Adds evidence review and ratings.

  4. Level 4

    Gold Standard Certified

The full Gold Standard Certification Review, completed and signed by the Founder against the Editorial Constitution.

Adds full certification and practical guidance.

Level 1 in detail

A Level 1 page may answer

  • What is this food?
  • Where does it belong?
  • What is it commonly called?
  • What family does it belong to?

A Level 1 page must not answer

  • What diseases does it help?
  • Is it anti-inflammatory?
  • Does it lower cholesterol?
  • Does it improve sleep?
  • What is its TPM temperament?
  • What does modern science conclude?

Editorial review at Level 1 is a basic factual review confirming identity and descriptive accuracy only. It is not a scientific review and not a qualified medical review. See a live example: Purslane.
